How we test, score & rank
ReviewFerret exists to save you the hours of research a good purchase usually takes. Here is exactly how we arrive at every ranking, and why you can trust that the order isn't for sale.
The five-part verdict score
Every product is scored out of 10 across five weighted dimensions: performance (how well it does its core job), value (performance relative to price), features, reliability(durability and failure rates from long-run owner feedback), and support(warranty and service). The five sub-scores combine into the single "verdict" number you see on each card.
Where our data comes from
We combine our own hands-on and specification-based evaluation with large-scale verified-owner review data, weighting both the average rating and the number of reviews, because a 4.7 from 12,000 owners is far more meaningful than a 5.0 from twelve. Products with too few verified reviews to judge confidently are excluded.
We refresh prices and deals weekly
Prices move constantly. We re-check pricing and active discounts at least weekly and update rankings when the value equation changes. The live price and any current deal are always confirmed on the retailer's own page when you tap through.
Independence, and how we make money
ReviewFerret is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site we may earn a commission, including as an Amazon Associate from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. No manufacturer or retailer can pay to be included or ranked higher. Commission rates never influence the order of a list, rankings are set by the verdict score alone.
